About Us

The Society of Educational Administrators of Nigeria was established as an umbrella association for practitioners of all specializations within the field of Educational Administration, Educational Management and Leadership who use the management functions of planning, organizing, influencing, and controlling in order to design, manage, regulate, monitor, or evaluate pre-primary, primary, secondary, tertiary and continuing educational programs in all institutions. The Society was incorporated under the Nigerian Companies Act, Cap. 37, (RC 10995).

This unique membership organization for professionals in educational administration, educational management and  in education delivery and other support roles,  aims to promote professionaablism in all areas associated with the efficient planning and prudent management of the resource inputs and assurance of the quality of outputs from our nation’s vast expanding educational system. The Society’s programs and activities will encourage The Society’s programs and activities will encourage, promote, protect and develop the educational system to meet the needs of our nation’s continued socio-economic growth and development.

Our members work to achieve efficient management and leadership in all educational institutions and in the various states’ Ministry of Education and other government research institutions and organizations whose roles impact the quality of education in the nation.

Educational professionals make a daily impact on the enlightenment and development of knowledge, either through classroom education delivery or the planning, administration, and/or management of institutions from pre-school to tertiary levels. Membership will include Principals, Vice Principals, Deans, Professors, Classroom Teachers, Managers, Administrators, Education Department Officers, and others who are interested in the educational development of our country such as members of the media, training organizations, corporations and organizations with an interest in education, etc.

SEAN Professional Qualifications recognize and endorse not just academic knowledge but also professional experience and the competence to use that expertise in practical situations in the educational settings and in statutory supervision and legislative roles. They also demonstrate the holder’s commitment to continuing professional development and to the maintenance of the highest professional standards in educational administration and related occupations. Successful applicants may then use after their names, the corresponding professional designatory letters, receive an appropriate certificate and must remain members of the Society in order to continue to use their qualifications.


Our Members

Our members are professionals who already occupy or are aspiring eventually to management and leadership positions in educational institutions at all levels, in governmental, NGO, and other private sector organizations where they use the management functions of planning,organizing, influencing, and controlling to design, manage, regulate, monitor, and evaluate pre-primary, primary , secondary, tertiary and continuing educational programs and schools. They manage the inputs necessary for improving the quality of educational programs and the quality outputs for our nation.

These members are from diverse areas of the formal and informal educational sectors and are employed in a wide variety of positions; some are vice chancellors, rectors, professors, lecturers, registrars, bursars, librarians, educational planners, chief technologists, SIWES coordinators, head masters, proprietors and educational support service providers.  Other members can be found administering the key parastatals of planning research and statistics, administration, finance and accounts, primary and secondary education, higher education, technology and science education, , the inspectorate, the press, legal and the internal audit units at the federal and state levels of educational governance, serving the nation in various functions at the supervisory and regulatory parastatals – NUC, NBTE, NCCE, UBE, NMEC, NCNE; the R & D and Training – NERDC, NMC, NLN, NTI, NIEPA; The Educational Measurement, Evaluation and Examinations boards – WAEC, JAMB, NBEM, NABTEB, TESCOM, Science and Technical Education Boards, State Primary Education Boards (SPEBs), and State Mass Education Commissions.
